A still from a scene we shot in Montreal. My actors can really fake it like champs. :)
So, we’re shooting bit of the film in the beautiful city of Montreal, QC. It’s been awesome, but exhausting. The actors have been absolutely fantastic about the 8 company moves we did today across the city (whew!), though they did get back to the hotel and pass out for 5 hours immediately after. Chris Tremblay has been an amazing DP for this shoot. He’s begun doing re-shoots with me since January (when re-shoots began), and they’ve been more than worth the extra time put into them.
Tomorrow is another day of shooting, then back to the states for some well deserved rest (worked another shoot last weekend in NYC) and a few (understatement) hours worth of editing. Photobomb is really shaping up!
It definitely lives up to it’s name of “rough” but it’s looking good so far! Another few months of work, and this thing is viewer ready.
To shoot a music video for Justin Levinson. He’s playing tonight in Burlington, VT. I’ll be sure to link the video once it’s done. I also took some photos during the shoot, so I’ll try to post those soon too.
Today we’re shooting all of our photo stills that we’re using as props. I’ll be posting them up later so you can get a look at our actors.
In the beginning, Morris is a well kept, professional looking guy. He doesn’t wear a business suit, but he dresses in a manner than says he’s got his life together. I’m looking for a plaid shit/jeans kind of look. He needs to look fashionable, but not too trendy. His hair will be well kept, as will his face (shaven).
Morris needs to look a little run down by the point of breakup. He will be wearing an old t-shirt and sweatpants, along with messy hair and possibly a little bit of facial stubble.
Claudia: she needs to be trendy yet professional. I was thinking of something more along the lines of business casual, but I thought it would look better if she appeared greatly more put together than Morris. The below is a rough concept. She needs to look trendy, as her industry is all about presentation.
For the last scene, Claudia is a lot less put together. She is ragged, demoted, and just generally a wreck. She will be wearing something kind of old lady-ish; I was thinking a kitschy cat sweater. It would look modern to show that she’s not completely lost it, but since she’s been demoted to working as a children’s mall photographer, she also wears things that are kid friendly. Below is another rough concept of what I’m going for, where the sweater looks still somewhat in season, but is uncharacteristic of what we saw her previously in.
It took a while to do so, but casting finally got done. I’m pretty content with everyone cast. The crew isn’t too bad either.

Here is a copy of the script for Photobomb. Hopefully, this will be the final iteration of it, but there could be some edits done during production.
